What a day!
The days just seem to blend together sometimes, you just don't have enough time in the day to do everything. I am lucky I can bath the kids every other night sometimes. You would think with being home all day I would have time to do everything but it really just goes fast. Before I know it I am picking the kids up from school, getting dinner ready and then it is time for bed. And it starts all over again the next day. woohoo!!

It is 6:40am and I have my husbands lunch and breakfast made, my 15 year old is getting ready to leave and I am contemplating getting on the treadmill now or later.
ReplyDeleteSome of you are probably are already up have the kids dressed and fed. And you are getting ready to walk out the door for work after dropping off the kids at day care. Sometimes I wonder how I did it all when I worked full time and had the 3 kids, and 2 of them weren't even in school yet. Because it gets overwhelming now and I am home all day. I just think that I have the expectation of being this supermom and making sure I have the house spic and span the kids well behaved at all times, a dinner that is hot and on the table when my husband walks int he door. Then of course making sure the children have all the attention that they need, but also my husband gets his attention too when he is home and settled from is work day. It sounds realistic on paper since I am home but their is always something that will pop up or go wrong or I am just too tired by the evening to want to do anything. I am learning to cut myself some slack now and then. Cause I feel like I do not do anything good enough if I keep giving myself all these expectations. Have a great day everyone!!!
It is such a relief to know that we are not alone in this. I worked full time until I was pregnant with my third child. Being a stay at home mom is the hardest job I have ever had!
ReplyDeleteKids say the darndest things! My fifteen year old is walking home with me after picking up the little ones from school, and I was talking to one of the fathers and said " Yeah we have 5 days off" What does my 15 year old say, " well mom you have everyday off!!" What?! I said oh if you only knew. The gentleman said "hey wait a minute she cleans, cooks, takes care of you 3 she doesn't have off." I was like yeah and it is a 24/7 job. You know he doesn't get that from my husband because I am lucky most of the time he appreciates me sometimes he is a smart ass but he is only kidding. But see this is a prime example of how so many people perceive housewives. This is why I have this blog to vent and say how I feel and probably how so many others feel too.
